A familiar project...

Two Brown Shoes will soon start the complex, yet fun redevelopment of www.sydneystormchasers.com

Sydney Storm Chasers first appeared in 1997 at Thunderstuck storm chasing designed by Ben Quinn (responsible for Brisbane Storm Chasers Homepage : a time when websites were labeled with 'homepage'). In '99 the page was redesigned into Sydney Storm Chasers, with James Harris and myself coming on board. In early 2002, the current site of the Sydney Storm Chasers was lauched and in its somewhat fragile setup has been cataloging storm chasing accross NSW since.
The problem is that with when a site is 7 years old - it reaches a critical mass. Information systems are totally out of date and some of the early structures created that reflected the prevailing web usages become sorely outdated.
The site averages about 200 unique hits per day in the off season and nearly 400-600 in the storm season. Scarily there are more holes in the site than in a poorly scripted Vin Diesel movie. Our aim is to turn it into a blog news site, with a vast gallery, online storm report and news .rss feed, video gallery and some more funky additions - something that is fairly original for the weather community.
On another matter - peanut MM's are definately the most edible food group of my year so far...
